Why is it that
the chaste poet writes about prostitution
the poet who lives in peace writes about war
the safe poet writes about danger and violence
and essentially the poet who lives a normal, boring life,
writes about things fantastic or horrific?
Can you write about the mundane
without pretending the mundane is significant?
And is it significant?
Should you write about plums or suicide?
Rocking chairs or hand grenades?
Walking dogs or being raped?
Why do you write?
